Liam (Billy) Brennan

Billy’s now holds the rank Karate Master 8th Dan Black Belt and is also a 1st Dan Black Belt Jujitsu. As a competitor he has won National and International Karate titles including the English and British Championships and was a finalist in the European Karate Championships.

Billy is coach to a number of England and Great Britain International competitors that include British, European, Commonwealth and World Championship medallists. At the 2003 under 21 years World Karate Championships Billy had taught five of England’s fifteen strong England team from grass roots to international level.

One of those internationals is Billy’s son Liam Brennan Jnr.. 3rd Dan Liam is an accomplished Martial Arts student in his own right having won English, British and international titles including Under 21 European bronze medallist and Cadet World semi finalist. Three of these students including Liam Jnr have gone on to represent British Universities Sports Association (BUSA) at the FISU World Universities Karate Championships.

Billy is as a qualified World and European Karate Federation Referee in both Kumite and Kata and has officiated in over thirty World, Commonwealth or European championships since 1994 including several finals - some live on satellite Television such as Eurosport and Sky Sport.

Current President of the Commonwealth Karate Federation, Vice Chairman of the United Kingdom Karate Referee Organisation (UKKRO), member of the British Karate Federation Executive committee, former Chair of the English Karate Governing Body and Vice President of the EKKA Karate Association.
